Fania Records is the legendary New York based Latin music label started in 1964 that went on to become an influential label for salsa and Afro-Caribbean music. Like the Blue Note jazz record label, some of Fania’s older catalogue is having a significant influence on new generations of music fans and musicians. One of those musicians is Mark de Clive-Lowe, a producer, DJ and pianist whose new EP, Barengue Remixed, features songs from the Fania catalogue, remixed by him. Check out his take on these classics by Joe Bataan and Ray Baretto.
